The incarnation of Piaget’s virtuosity in the art of the ultra-thin since 1957, the Emperador Cushion-Shaped Self-Winding Minute Repeater watch attains a double record for thinness in its category: 4.8 mm for the calibre 1290P - despite its 407 components - and 9.3 mm for its 49 mm-diameter cushion-shaped case. Housing the fourth major complication movement entirely developed, produced, decorated and assembled in-house, thanks to the twin expertise of Piaget's two Manufactures, this exceptional watch meets a threefold objective: uncompromising technical mastery, the finest acoustics, and aesthetics focused on exceptional finishes. A dazzling showcase of the skills that Piaget has refined over the last 140 years, diamonds light up this exclusive numbered watch edition with all their eternal brilliance. This movement combining all the superlatives is revealed here in a display of fascinating transparency, enhanced by the very purest of diamonds. In place of the dial we find the bewitching beauty of both an array of precious stones and the movement itself, decorated with the greatest care and attention. The gem-set indexes are attached to the case but seem to levitate above the movement. Master watchmakers, case designers and gem-setters have worked in unison to create an High Jewellery minute-repeater watch while conserving the exceptional acoustic qualities of the case, crafted in 18K white gold. With its contemporary-looking contours carved out amid a riot of diamonds, the case of this luxury timepiece is a veritable masterpiece of gem-setting in its own right, requiring 115 hours of craftsmanship. No fewer than 555 diamonds of a variety of shapes – baguette-cut, round and emerald-cut – work their magic between the dial, bezel, case-middle, lugs and crown, while 24 baguette-cut diamonds adorn the buckle of its black leather strap.
